TIFFA Scan (Targeted Imaging for Fetal Anomalies)

TIFFA Scan (Targeted Imaging for Fetal Anomalies)

We offer advanced TIFFA Scans—also known as Anomaly Scans—to carefully evaluate fetal development during the second trimester of pregnancy. Conducted between 18 to 22 weeks, this scan plays a critical role in identifying any structural or congenital abnormalities in the growing baby.

TIFFA (Targeted Imaging for Fetal Anomalies) is a specialized ultrasound that goes beyond routine checks to examine all major organs and systems of the fetus. It provides detailed views of the baby’s brain, heart, spine, kidneys, stomach, limbs, and face. It also assesses placental position, amniotic fluid volume, and cervical length, especially important in high-risk pregnancies.

Performed by Dr. Shadan Hashmi, an experienced Consultant Radiologist with advanced training in fetal imaging, the scan is conducted using high-resolution ultrasound equipment to ensure clear, accurate, and timely results.

Why TIFFA Scans Are Important:

  • Detects physical abnormalities (such as cleft lip, heart defects, or limb deformities)

  • Evaluates fetal growth patterns and well-being

  • Assists in early diagnosis for planning further medical or surgical interventions

  • Helps obstetricians manage pregnancy with greater confidence and safety

The scan is completely safe, non-invasive, and painless, ensuring a comfortable experience for the expectant mother. We maintain a patient-friendly environment, offering clear explanations and emotional support throughout the procedure.

At Sahawar Ultrasound and Diagnostic Center, we understand how important this stage of pregnancy is. Our focus is to provide reassurance, clarity, and expert guidance to support both mother and child through each step.
